“GHANTOOT MARINA AND ART MARINE” FISHING TOURNAMENT SERIES 2 RESULTS ANNOUNCED”

Ghantoot, Abu Dhabi: on the 25th of November  2011, ART Marine and Ghantoot Marina  and Resort, in cooperation with Arimar, Ocean Active and Carlsberg, hosted their second fishing competition in the “Refreshingly Different” (the marina’s slogan) Ghantoot Marina and Resort. 10 boats and 16 kayaks have entered the free sports fishing competition that started at 6 am on Friday, and ended at 4 PM on the same day.

It was a amazing day, the weather was perfect despite the fact that there was a foul weather warning the day before, and all participants came back with amazing catches, from Barracudas to Black Tip Sharks. Ghantoot waters are full of fishes and the day had been very exciting. 

This is one of ART Marinas initiatives to showcase Ghantoot Marina’s beauty and amazing location between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the crystal clear water, the greenery of the area and the newly opened yacht club . Creating destinations in the region is one of ART Marine’s strategic objectives.

After fishing all day, the guests enjoyed an afternoon barbecue while the results were announced; the winners received valuable prizes, from an Arimar tender to free berthing at Ghantoot Marina. In the Boats category, “Finfin” came first, skipped by Stefanos, catching a 10.6 KG grouper (hammour); he won 3 months free berthing at Ghantoot Marina. “Soolyman” came number 2, skipped by Philip Du Plessis  and catching a 7.6 KG  barracuda; he won a 2 month free berthing at the Marina. “Al Wassel ” came number 3 captained by Mohammad  and catching a 7.5 KG bonito ; he won a one month free berth at the Marina.As for the Kayak Category,  Nico Nel Jr.  came number one  catching a 4.3 KG black tip shark and a 2.5 KG barracuda, winning the amazing Arimar tender, followed by Nick Nel Sr. catching a 4.3 KG black tip shark and won a charter for 4 provided by ART Marine Marine Products. Deon Coetzee came number 3 catching a 1.7 KG hammour and he won many prizes from fishing rods to lures and accessories.

Blood Donations at Ghantoot Marina

The Desert Warriors Motor Cycle Club held their 3rd annual blood donation event at  Ghantoot Marina on the 25th of March.
The spectacle of hundreds of volunteers and their beautiful machines changed the marina into a not so tranquil place. The good cause and the well behaved guests meant the day went without a hitch. The organization was amazing and to see the office building turned into a bustling clinic made this day stand out.

Fishing Success on George’s Day – 22nd April

Ghantoot Marina Wi-Fi

The second phase of the marina Wi-Fi is now up and running. The address’s are “Marina router 1”or“Marina router 2” and the password can be obtained from Dhenis in the main office. The system has been tested but does not allow for large files to be downloaded.

Al Jazira Golden Tulip Triathlon Race 5

This series of races was organised by Emirates Triathlete and was held at Ghantoot on 25th March. The event was very well supported and, as always, went without any problems.
